So the title of this post sounds kind of scary and I suppose it is in a way. Going bad is not what these tags are actually doing, since they are not people, but bad things can come of them. Things that we do not really think about.

Listed here are a few things that can happen to you if they have not already. Maybe there is a little paranoia happening here so do not worry so much because I have just thought of some bad things that can happen.

• Stalker
• Wrong Address

Rips - So you have had your luggage for a really long time, decades perhaps and the tag is just as old. It has been great so far so there is nothing to worry about, just pack everything in and you will be fine. But wait, all that wear and tear that your luggage has been having has taken its toll on your tags. It may have fallen off already and you just have not noticed it. Or it was totally fine but it ripped off in transit. What if they lose your luggage and there is no address? Best check this and make sure your luggage tags are not on their last legs.

Stalker -OK, so this is a bit of an extreme one but it is not impossible. It does not matter where in the world you are so I am not going to make any stereotypical example of a place where this could happen. You are waiting in the line to check in or you have collected some luggage already and are waiting for the rest of them. Your luggage tags are not the most private so anybody can just glance over and see your name and address. In one glance they have most of your details and probably a phone number too. An opportunity for identity theft or stalking? Who knows, but why take that chance? Make sure yours is private.

Wrong Address -This can be because you have not filled out the tag or have moved and not updated the address. It could also happen when you borrow someone elses luggage or buy it second hand and it still has the other persons details in there. Make sure you check this so your lost luggage is not sent to some unknown destination.

So there you have it, some likely scenarios that you may never have given much though to when you are on your way to a great holiday. But do not despair, just remember to check your tags on your luggage before you take that wonderful trip you have been planning for months. See here how important they are.
